There's a Thrillist article out there that has Coors Banquet as Colorado's "official" beer, so I wasn't far off.

New Mexico would have to be, IMO, La Cumbre's Elevated IPA.

Based on my ratings New Jersey is Kane Sunday Brunch.
Though I have something of a soft spot for The Shack IPA from Ship Bottom.

West Virginia would be Chestnut Brew Works Halleck Pale Ale, though now that I am in CO I would say its Juicy Bits

Marble imperial red and Santa fe java stout have always been stand outside from down south. Too bad we don't see marble anymore up here.

In Montana I’ll go with Blackfoot River Brewing single malt IPA. I know it doesn’t go further east then Bozeman but I’ll say it’s the most sought after tap handle in Western MT. Second choice would be Cold Smoke by kettlehouse.

    Oh yeah, duh.

I saw that article. But I wasn't looking for beers like Coors and Bud.

For beers brewed in SC I would say Coast HopArt or Palmetto IPA or Lager because of their longevity but the reality is PBR...we have the number one seller of PBR here in Charleston.

One Claw is absolutely the right answer to me. If someone released it today, I still think people would go nuts over it what ?8-10 yrs+ later from its release.

Edit- whoa--I thought this was an older revisited thread and finally looked at the dates on the prior posts.

My understanding is that this is supposed to be the beer that best represents the state, not craft beer. If I take this to mean what people think of when they hear of beer from each state, I would have to say Yuengling, the oldest brewery in the nation. Victory certainly was a pioneer of craft and Penn too, perhaps even earlier. I do not perceive Yards as being that well known outside of the state. I also think there are better breweries such as Voodoo and Weyerbacher. But I do not perceive these as representing the state.

On the other hand, if this is supposed to mean which beer is the best from each state, that is another story and does not involve Yuengling, Straubs, Yards or Victory. Just sayin' . . .

And I like them for my cheap go to beer except they went up a dollar at the Target where they've been $5.99 for Longnecks Sixers. I like PBR too.
