To all these Californians saying wookie jack...
Please check out Henhouse “allow me to reintroduce myself”.
Just came out a few days ago. Pretty damn good. Never had wookie jack personally so can’t compare.

Only one that really comes to mind and no one will have heard of it.

Fritz Family Brewers made a porter when they first started and I guess they were trying to get it in as a core beer but it didn't sell or something because it disappeared right after I got my first growler of it. It was delicious and smooth, but gone fast.

Both Noble Pils and FW Pivo Pils (as standalone bottles/cans) are no longer available. Prima Pils is still available but apparently not in your area.

    Cheers!

I saw a Black IPA from Original Pattern this week. I didn't get it, but OP does pretty much every style well.

It's pretty much a nostalgia thing at this point. Currently there are so many delicious options, but I do have a soft spot for OG Double Jack. It was often hard to find fresh bombers (and later 4 packs) so whenever I was in the Paso area I would load up on the fresh stuff. The current DJ that comes out at times isn't the same for me, it seems thinner and doesn't have the juicy hop punch.

I would like to see more black IPAs in general. Excuse me, I meant to say "Cascadian Schwarzbiers".

    1. Oskar Blues/Cigar City Bamburana BA Stout
    2. Samuel Adams Merry Maker Gingerbread Stout
    3. Founders CBS BBA Imperial Stout
To bring Bamburana back, they'd need to import the Amburana bark from South America, which could be hard to get and/or expensive. Tastes like cinnamon, though still unique. Merry Maker may still be brewed occasionally and served on tap, but I'd like to see it in distribution again. I believe CBS is just on hiatus and will reappear periodically, maybe with variants (chocolate, blueberries, or strawberries would go good with the maple).

Funny - I just saw @Barettes post after I posted this. That's two votes for Bamburana.

In general old style hop bomb IPAs. Not West Coast or New England. Old style early 2000s bitter dank , piney IPA.
Used to be an argument back in the day about the difference between WC and PNW IPAs. WC IPAs were then known as San Diego style.
    They won.
But at least tonight I have Bend Devil's Cabbage..if you ever see it buy it

Oh, I forgot, Tröegs Flying Mouflon.
Probably my 2nd favorite Tröegs beer, after the Rugged Trail But Brown Ale that is long gone.
I have yet to crack open the Triple-Nator.

I too vote for Stoudt's, especially their Pilsener. The early Saranac variety packs were great: included Black Forest Bavarian, and their Pilsener, which had humble ratings but I enjoyed. That variety pack was always the best deal at the beer depot. Nowadays, when you see it (rarely) it is mainly IPAs.
