Ten Fidy. Drink a can with at least a year on it next to a fresh one and you'll be amazed at the difference. Do that before noon and you'll be amazed at how little you get done that day.

Couple of months ago had one from 2009 that blew me the fuck away. Never would have thought to age this. Thanks Mike.

In my experience about 75% of barleywines/old ales/stock ales/strong ales are better with 2+ years on them than they are fresh, and most of tthe remaining 25% aren't worth bothering with anyway. Belgian dark ales/quads are hit or miss but usually at least hold up for a few years. IImperial stouts vary a lot.

So yeah, I recommend barleywines and old ales.

DFH Old School... if ever there was a testament to aging, its gotta be this beer. Had a 6 year old bottle recently that tasted like liquid jesus.

The recipe hasn't changed, they understated the abv back then. Now they're deliberately over-estimating to avoid getting fined.

I might have to lay one down for longer. A few months ago I had a 2010 bottle and it was just going through a super awkward phase. Had it side by side with a fresh one and much preferred it fresh at that point.

I will agree with those saying WWS, it's a really good candidate to age.

I had a DFH Red & White that I left alone for a 1.5/2 years and the alcohol heat really mellowed out. I didn't care for it fresh, but a little bit of age (it's a wit, but a 10% wit can hold up) worked well.

What he said - buy a 4-pack and forget about it for 10 years or so. Sublime!

The Abyss ages very well. Just did a vertical with '10, '11, and '12 and the '10 was stellar.
