Earlier this year I went to Moat Mountain in NH after snowboarding at Wildcat like I have done before and a quick visit to Night Shift in Everett, MA and their neighbor brewery next door Idle Hands. We stopped by Sixpoint a few months ago on our way to VA for a wedding. Other than that we hit up Sam Adams for their monthly open house events, Blue Hills for growlers, Portsmouth Brewery on our way to or from Old Orchard, and Baxter in ME. We usually hit up more breweries while traveling, but haven't done much this year. Keeping brewery visits local to New England.

Last weekend I went to Green Flash, Ballast Point, Alpine, Societe, Modern Times, AleSmith and Stone. Needless to say it was a fairly painful weekend with all the hangovers.

Went to Singlecut Beersmiths in Astoria, NY last Sunday. Friend of mine works there and the beer for the most part is pretty darn good. She set me up with a 10 beer sampler for free; can't beat that!

My wife and I make frequent brewery road trips and have done so many this year it's hard to count. Since summer/late spring:

Tired Hands (for the umpteenth time)
Victory (for the 5th or 6th)
    Forest and Main (ditto)
    Nodding Head (1st)
    Mckenzie Brewhouse (1st)
    Alchemist (many times)
    Hill Farmstead (first, finally)
    Foley Brothers (don't bother)
Murray's (australia, first and likely only time!)
    Trapp (many visits)
    Peekskill (first time)
    Kane (first time)
    Captain Lawrence (twice)
    Newburgh (many times)
    Rushing Duck (first)
    Bethlehem Brew Works (first)
    Neshaminy (first)
    508 (twice)
    Drop-In (first)
    Defiant (third)
    Long Ireland (third)
    Iron Hill(s) (countless)

Just drove up to Kalamazoo, MI to visit Bells, then to Grand Rapids, Mi to visit Founders for the Mango Magnifico release with my wife. It was a nice drive up from chicago. I thought Bells was a much more interesting visit, more on tap selections, good food and nice people. I usually visit 3F every few weeks or so, and I love the place. Food is always good, and i always leave feeling glad I stopped by. Just picked up some drunk monk, im excited to try it!

The last commercial brewery I visited was the now-defunct LoneStar facility downtown, which folded in the 70's, I think. Lots of good local brew joints that I need to check out, which I haven't yet. Stopped in at a couple of friends' homebrew operations over the years, tho'. If that counts. The beer was dicey, at times, but the tours were spectacular.

    In August I've been to...

Genesee - had to because I was there (and a rep took me there)
Southern Tier - out of the way but totally worth it (amazing place)
Great Lakes - Ive been here many times and it's still a favorite of mine

This week I was in the NJ, NY, and CT region for 3 nights.
Harvest Moon - okay but I wouldn't go out of my way for it again
    Defiant - Never again
Captain Lawrence - certainly worth the visit if you're near by
Singlecut - a really great place with great beers; 100% worth a visit

Next week = Michigan. I've already been to a slew of breweries up there this year but I'm hoping to hit Jolly Pumpkin for the first time (excited!).

Ale Asylum, Madison, WI... about 5 hours ago. Very, very cool! New building, larger facilities, hopefully equals better distribution. Bedlam and Hopalicious are worth sharing with the world outside Wisconsin.
