Last brewery I visited was Jack's Abby. My wife and I were hoping to get to a few more this summer, but the little guy in my avatar hasn't developed a taste for beer yet... or speech, walking, etc...

    I saw that as well.

I wonder if he had in his mind "Southern Pecan" by Lazy Magnolia (in Mississippi), and typed it wrong.

I've had a great calendar year. Not including the growing number of great local startups, (33 Acre, Parallel 49, Powell St) I travelled to Russian River last August, Surly just this past June, and hit Kuhnhenn and Great Lakes last week on a baseball beer adventure.

Great topic for this week. I just did a Vermont brewery tour for my bachelor party. We visited Harpoon, McNeill's, Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, Rock Bottom, Lost Nation, Zero Gravity, Switchback, Magic Hat, Fiddlehead, Vermont Pub and Brewery, and Three Needs. Vermont makes some incredible beers.

Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, FL because I live 10 minutes away

They do tours on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Worth visiting to try Funky Buddha's beers and other local Florida breweries on guest taps, and play some bocce ball, cornhole, or giant Jenga.

I'm gonna go to Bandwagon Brewpub here in Ithaca; like tomorrow afternoon maybe. I hope they let me take pictures and show me around. I'll be happy though if I just get a good seat and a glass that's always full. Will report back if I can.

In June I visited CCB. They have an amazing selection in their tasting room. Between the 4 of us, we ordered enough flights to pretty much taste everything. My favorites were the Jai Alai, Cubano-Style Espresso Brown Ale and Guava Berliner Weiss.

Last month I went to a new Chicago brewery, DryHops. They switch out their selections pretty quickly, but at that time they had on tap a coconut stout that was really good. I've been pretty happy with just about everything I've tried from them (other than their California steam beer which I didn't care for personally, but I'm not a fan of the style)
