What breweries in Massachusetts are brewing Milkshake IPA’s?

Bunch of places on the south shore brew them , but you need to time it right to find them (stock turns over quickly). Stellwagen, Vitamin Sea, and Widow Maker , the latter has them regularly. Not my thing, but good luck

 

Add River Styx to the list. I believe they often have one pouring.

 

Vanished Valley in Ludlow has a pretty good milkshake series. Their taproom is open and they now have a full restaurant that is supposedly great. They don't brew the milkshakes too often and they don't currently have one in cans or on tap.

Rustic Brewing in Indian Orchard has an awesome milkshake series called Daydream. The best milkshake I have ever had. Their taproom is not open yet. It was actually only open one day a month before the pandemic. They did start canning during the shutdown though. They don't sell out of their taproom but instead deliver cans to a few local packies. I would say they brew a milkshake at least once a month. The cans go fast though. You have to be on your game. Check their social media.

 

Stellwagen makes good ones but I haven't had theirs in well over a year now. Oddly I've found their beers on the rare occasion I make it to Julio's, but nothing at the stores closer to my office around 128. And there is no direct way to get to the south shore from RI to visit their taproom more often unfortunately.

 

Nightshift just released a peach / strawberry milkshake DIPA. Not sure if it is taproom only or being distributed.

 

I know this isn’t helpful but mystic used to make the Frappe series which was maybe the only time I actually enjoyed this style of beer.

 

second wind brewing in plymouth does a lot of the milkshake IPAs. looks like they have one on right now and one listed as an upcoming release. i'm not sure if their stuff is available in stores or not. i've never seen it personally, but i'm on the upper south shore. sounds like they got new canning equipment so maybe it will start popping up in stores if it's not already.

 

I forgot to mention Mighty Squirrel. I haven't had any but I know they make them and you can find them in stores.

I saw their facebook post and it was going to be Everett and Lovejoy Wharf, but it changed to Everett taproom pickup only because of how small the batch was.

 

I saw some Second Wind four packs at Curtis Liquors Weymouth pre covid lockdown. It was somewhat memorable because the canned on dates were written in black magic marker. So at least some is making it to distro

Harpoon has just released a Strawberry Milkshake IPA.

 

Abandoned Building Brewery usually has a milkshake available. You can do curbside and they do distribute locally in MA.
