Sticking to those I've had about a handfull of their offerings, and eliminating the Dead-to-Me BMC Adjunct crowd:-

Brooklyn, Clown Shoes (Though I do have Breakfast Exorcism in reserve, so that might change) Erie, Evolution, Full Pint, Harpoon, Lost Coast, and Voodoo have been less than enthralling to this man's palate.

Did your phone autocorrect or something? That should read "wankery", shouldn't it?

Magic Hat to me. I honestly always thought Magic Hat was like Shock Top or Blue Moon and owned by one of the big boys until I just looked them up a few seconds ago.

Other ones for me are Flying Dog and Saranac.

I can't put Rogue or New Belgium in that list because of nostalgia. I honestly think that Ranger and the like are great "intro" beers for people turning from MBC. But once you've gotten used to them, it's time to step up to Stone and Bell's and never look back.

Wow. Outside of the horrendous Mad Elf, I can't think of a widely distributed beer of theirs that I don't like.

Care to share which beers you had, if you can remember?

Personally, I'm not terribly fond of either Abita or Heavy Seas and could take or leave Clown Shoes. They've made some good beers, but it's their schtick that rubs me the wrong way.

Southern Tier and New Belgium, IMO, both kick ass. Both have very solid year-round line-ups and their seasonals and specialty beers are very good as well. That said, Pumpking can DIAF.

Had a few Abita's while at a Disney resort, I know Turbodog and Purple Haze, not sure what else. Southern Tier = Pumking, Choklat, Crème Brulee. Brought by a friend of a friend once. New Belgium = Fat Tire, Citradelic, Ranger. Not sure from the others.

honestly man, I'm not saying that they are bad brewers, but I have never had a great divide beer that I honestly enjoyed.

I have been following this thread since early this morning and concluded it's too nice a day for me to get angry at anybody.

Kind of ignored them since I've been in PA. Back in the day, they were killing it, though.

This--I'll even one up you and say that I don't care that much for Matilda or Sofie either--not that those two are bad, but just nothing that would excite me the way it does some others around these boards. I've never had BCBS, but simply judging by GI's track record with me, I find it hard to believe that BCBS is really all that better than some of the other barrel-aged beers from legit craft breweries who have not sold out. And Honkers and 312 are just a bland embarrassment to craft that I find it difficult to imagine a world in which they were exciting. I mean just because you call something "craft:" does not make it great or even good, but I have never had anything from Goose that even moves the needle for me. The only way I am ever likely to find out if BCBS is any good is if a magical beer fairy pours some for me, because I would not be likely to buy it even if I had the opportunity to do so without standing in line. And I can't imagine it being good enough to make it worth me breaking my vow to never knowingly purchase something from ABI.

The whole Cantillon thing is dogshit. The most over hyped shit in the history of the world. Right, I'm running for the hills. I'll be back in a few months under a new username.

I remember the days when it just gathered dust on shelves and in coolers. Won't see any of that these days.

Saranac is just okay--I'd drink it gladly if there was nothing better, but definitely would not go out of my way.

But I LOVE Southern Tier--really the only thing I've had from them that I did not like was the Creme Brule. I heard so many good things about it, then when I finally got my hands on a bottle to try some, it was sickeningly sweet. Probably the closest I've come to a drain pour (that was not a homebrew gone awry), but I persevered and got through it because I do not like to waste beer, even if its not a beer I am fond of.

Some of their Blackwater Series are "taster size ONLY" beers. It'd be gag-inducing to try to finish a bomber of Creme Brulee solo.

For the most part Abita ranges from "Meh" to "Yuck" for me, but I did enjoy their Andygator Maibock.

I had trouble with the first sip--and I assure you it did not get any better afterwards. But somehow I got through it by myself. Would. Not. Ever. Do it again. Unfortunately, I rarely get the chance to drink with others. My wife wouldn't touch it. And it was difficult to pour out after I had searched for it for so long, and paid a premium price for it to boot. I just chalked that one up to "suffering for a buzz" even though I don't generally drink to get drunk, but in that circumstance it was the only way to "make the best of it." lol

If you see Citrus Plunge IPA (16 oz can), I'd try it... it was a bit of a surprise for me (good surprise)
