How can it be shorts? So many strong brews and so many bizarre ones that they make work. What's your experience with them?

Rogue was the immediate choice. I've been into craft for 4 years now and knew they were mediocre at best after 3 months of trying their offerings.

    Maui brewing
    Magic Hat

A lot of the breweries that people have mentioned I feel have really subpar lineups but have seasonal or limited beers that are quite good. For instance, I've seen a few mentioned of shipyard. I hate their regular lineup, especially pumpkinhead because everyone serves it here. But their barrel series is great. They do an imperial stout and one called Arctic Ale that's amazing. But the 3 above I mentioned, I literally have never had a well done beer.

I have had my share of pumpkin beers but Rogue is by far the best with their pumpkinpatch beer. They use real pumpkins and is exactly what I want in a pumpkin beer. As far as the rest of their selection you might be right as I haven't had any but at least give them credit for their pumpkinpatch beer.

I am curious how some of these breweries stay in business! I support craft 100%, and do not mean to imply I want them to lose business! But for instance, I have not seen 1 person comment in a positive aspect on Magic Hat. Other breweries, as well. How do they keep on ticking?

Seriously? They service a different segment of the market.

Ima add North Coast.... Sigh..... I sorta enjoyed the Schrimsha, but after having Rasputin I threw in the towel.

The Lips of Faith series is where they show their skill as brewers....Most of their lineup is mid- range nothing special I would agree...

But the Lips of Faith is the good stuff...

Now, them I'd put in the 'Brewery you don't buy from as much as you should ' category myself. They make some fantastic beers in hard to find substyles, like Old Stock, Old #38, heck even Old Raspy when I'm not in the mood to spend $6 on a bottle of Courage. Anything with Old in the title, I guess. Do they make an Old Scrimshaw? ...

Despite their reputation, I'm consistently disappointed by Prairie. Especially at their prices.

And Pranqster, too! Yeah, I think they're actually really solid overall, but in this day and age all anyone seems to be interested in talking about is that Imperial Stout.

That was my experience. :stuck_out_tongue: Ditto Choklat Oranj. I do like Choklat,Salted Caramel, & Porter, because they are less sweet. (In a 12 oz.) I do like IPA & 2XIPA , if fresh. Cherry Gose was good, once I adjusted my mind to " Cherry Barleywine (ish), rather than "gose". (11% is too much for "refreshing & light, on a hot day. ; ) ) Other stuff is a coin flip. I usually try singles of their beers, before going for a full pack.
