What characteristics make up a world class Witbier

    Nope, Witbiers do not have banana and clove flavors. That is true for German Hefeweizen beers though.

    As said before balance is key and too much coriander can definitely ruin an otherwise good witbier.

    What kind of hops would you like to try in a Witbier, I know a lot of people prefer Noble and I have seen some Goldings used, but is there anything you think you would like to try in a Witbier

    I lightly hop with European hops: I prefer German hops for bittering (German Magnum or Tettnanger) and Czech Saaz hops for flavor.

    The yeast esters are what make Witbier.

    Spicy scent and taste.

    My first homebrew was a Belgian Wit. I used Tettnanger hops and got good results.

    Great summer style, for sure, I agree with losing the fruit garnish...it's not a Mai Tai!!

    Yes, this over the even more evil empire-ish Blue Moon, wow is that stuff atrocious, it really had me avoiding the style all together, though I knew there were far better examples out there incl, Hoegaarden, GL Holy Moses etc.
