Hey all, So I'm working on my wants list to try and figure out what highly touted brews I'd like to try. I've perused the forums looking at what people are getting giddy over and I think I got a good amount (anything RR, FFF, Firestone, KBS, Cantillon). What I'm interested in is what else should I add to my must try list. It doesn't have to be things I'll need to trade for, and I'm open to all styles. Please not just tell me, "drink what you like bro" beacuse I'm asking you to tell me what to drink!
Is that accurate that you've only had three different beers? http://beeradvocate.com/user/beers?ba=mcaulifww&view=H
Take a look at the top 100 list. You probably want to try any of those that you havent yet. If you prefer a particular style, sort by that style and seek out the top rated ones from there.
Taking a quick look at your wants I didnt see any sours. Maybe try some jolly pumpkin beers if they are avalible in your area. Also you have KBS as a want but give founders regular breakfast stout or their imperial stout a try. They should be easier to get.
I've looked though the top 100 rated and beers of fame list, I got a bunch off those lists, just curious if there are any others that might not be on those lists
You can start diving into the 'new' list, though many of those are tough to get. Another option is to pick a style you like and go through the top beers for that style. Repeat as necessary.
I have that on my want list (I don't update the BA wants and gots) I looked at their website and it said they weren't making it anymore. Is that correct?
Yes, that is correct. It was aged in the barrels that formerly held Bourbon County Rare (and PVW before that). So, unless they make Rare again, there will be no more King Henry
cool thanks for the insight. I hear great things about it. VA is hit or miss on some of these great breweries
