What Do You Buy By The Case?

The only case I ever bought was a case of SNPA I bought for a BBQ (i.e., gathering of people to eat smoked meat) I was hosting several years ago. Now that craft is more prevalent and my friends and acquaintances are now veteran craft beer drinkers (but weren't back then), I don't provide beer. All of my BBQs are strictly BYOB.

I do buy Celebration by the 12-pack when it's still fresh and I did buy a number of 12-packs of Ruthless Rye when it was available. I am a regular purchaser of 6-packs of many varieties.

 

I buy by the case whenever I can to keep up my stock of daily drinkers. So, usually Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold and Oktoberfest (in season, Elliot Ness otherwise) and Dominion Lager, when they are on sale. A few places around D.C. put Great Lakes on sale at $29 a case, and Dominion usually comes in at $25 a case. I also buy Devils Backbone Vienna Lager when it's on sale.

SN Bigfoot is the only one I have bought by the case in quite a few years since 2 12 packs are usually a better deal in my area.

I mostly buy six and 12 packs, but over the year that equals many cases of a handful of brands since I am a repeat buyer of things I like to drink.

 

Only case I ever bought of craft was a case of BCBS this week. I'm trying new beers all the time so I typically don't see the need of buying a whole case plus I like to have a variety. Also, I rarely see unopened cases as most have been broken down to put on the shelf in 4 or 6 packs or as singles.

 

None.

 

On a trip to Philly for the Rugby Championships I bought a case of Founders for the hotel room. That's the only time. Majority of beers I buy are bombers, or 4 packs. Rare that a beer I want comes in a 6er.

 

ZD and Gumballhead are the only two things I've (somewhat) regularly picked up by the case. If i'm doing major roadtrips to either new england or the PNW that's a different story

 

Yupp, last time I was in Chicago two years ago, I bought a case.

I was running some back to Colorado for a couple friends, so it wasn't all mine, but still...it was a badass looking case of beer.

 

if i'm gonna get a case i'll usually split it with friends. even HT is tough not to share.

other than that Id rather drink more variety.

 

I'm kinda tempted to buy a Red Hoptober case this year, I've already almost gone through 2 six packs so far this fall season. One of my favorites this year.

 

Nugget Nectar.

 

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, Celebration and Autumn Tumbler. Such a great deal on such great beer. Will also be buying a case of Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout and Great Lakes Christmas this year.

 

Two Hearted is usually now the only beer i buy by the case regularly (besides limited stuff)

 

Warsteiner($15) and Hofbrau Ocktoberfest($20) are my yearly cs buys.

I second the Snow Day. Also, I generally only buy 12 pack variety packs, 6 pack mixers, or individual bottles, which is probably pretty common on BA.

 

Yuengling. I know. But great to have around.
