What do you do for a living, BAs?

I am an environmental consultant/geologist. I investigate and clean up contaminated properties for private companies and public municipalities; typically active or abandoned industrial/commercial properties.

 

Traffic and Media Manager at WHSV TV here in H'burg VA.

 

Creative director/designer at a smaller agency and part-time furniture maker.

 

Facilities/Fleet Manager for the agency responsible for construction and modernization of all NYC public schools

 

I'm a full-time student at the University of New Brunswick in the Biology Faculty. My love for all things brewing/beer has inclined me to point my studies toward microbiology, specifically yeast. I guess we'll see where that goes over the next few years

Personally, I like threads like this, but this is still off-topic. Hopefully it's a step closer to an actual off-topic forum.

 

Originally I got a Masters degree in Archaeology, but after only being able to get seasonal work and no sign of a permanent job I began working as a gardener for the local council.
After 3 years I changed tracks again, and started working as an assistant at the Lerwick Brewery at the start of this year.
It's pretty much the ideal job for a BA, and I get to try lots of different beers (all in the name of research, of course...) along with brewing our own ranges and coming up with new recipes. It's not all fun and games, of course, but I wouldn't have it any other way and can honestly say that I love my job.

I'm a freelance musician. I play drumset and orchestral percussion. I used to live in Hollywood, but I moved back to Orange County to earn a bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance from Cal State University Fullerton, and I'm almost done with a master's degree in Jazz Studies Performance from CSUF. I have a teaching studio with about 20 private students, I teach at Orange County School of the Arts, I substitute teach in the music program at a local community college, I have a regular Sunday church job, and I do gigs on weekends with cover bands, jazz groups, and orchestras.
