Might have posted on here already, but I'm a production manager at Bon Appétit Magazine, and I write about beer too. Definitely doesn't suck.

I'm an accountant, but I do PPE management for a non-profit. Out of curiosity, how much time do you spend auditing vs. whatever else you do?

That's pretty much all I do. We monitor transactions, accruals, dividends, etc... Also make sure activity of outside held investments are being processed correctly buy our operations departments. Things like that.

I used to do this for 5 years. Never wore the face mask, but always had the hoodie pulled over my ears (really does keep them from stinging). When people used to ask me what I did for a living, I said I worked in an air conditioned office and got to drive a company vehicle every day!

Seriously though, I would always take crappy days off so I could go to school. The job sucked, but the wage was good and I paid for 4 years of college with no debt. Plus I got to keep my pension when I left.

    Keep at it....

I didn’t mention it but once month ends are over we produce client statements after verifying the account’s accuracy. This is kind of our end product.

Blogger/editorial assistant for a marketing company. Not really a passion necessarily - I studied English and creative writing at the undergraduate and graduate level - but the flexibility of working from home definitely doesn't suck and allows for other more creative pursuits - freelance beer writing, etc.

I imagine those don't require much prep since the rest of the month is spent on the accuracy.

So I'm quotting myself here because it's too late to edit my original post (see above) because I forgot to say that my avatar is a carbon fiber prosthesis we designed (really my coworker Jordan did) with a bottle opener built into the socket (top part of the leg). The patient wanted one like that so we did it for him... I think it's truly one-of-a-kind!
