What do you do for a living, BAs?

After co-owning 5 video stores back in the day for about a dozen years I moved to Vegas and worked at Mandalay Bay for 16 years. I moved back to California earlier this year but unfortunately am in an area where it's been difficult to find work, especially if you're not in your 20's or 30's any more. Sooo, I'm currently doing my best to find work and in the meantime having to buy cheap, lousy tasting beer to drink.

 

Thanks for reviving this thread. It gave me something entertaining to read during the AM break today at my job as a state government employee in PA. I also made pizza for about 6 years prior to my current gig and loved it as well! It's been almost 15 years since I've done it, but I still have the occasional pizza making dream. Good luck to you with your goal of one day having your own pizza place!

 

I work in Development for a non profit in Vermont. Not the most lucrative field, but enough left over for enough beer to keep me happy.

Radiation safety and equipment calibration around the Midwest and mountain West. I like the travel cause the beer selection in Idaho could be better. Nothing better then bringing home toppling goliath and surly to share with the neighbors and co workers. Blowing minds out here.

 

I do beer buying for a store on the South Shore in MA. Used to work for a distributor but the hours and commute were killing me, this is way closer to home and now I dont have a chain of bosses yelling at me either over things that arent always in my control!

 

I'm a nursing tech at the hospital. I'm trying to go back to school eventually and be an RN or an X Ray Tech.

I just started at the hospital a few weeks ago, so it's an uphill climb. Especially being 31 and a guy going into healthcare for the first time, but I'm anxious to get started. I was wasting away at my last job anyway.

 

Still an engineering student. But, working on opening a craft malt house in southern Oregon.

 

I made a switch from Finance to health care when I was about 28. Best decision of my life. And my wife went into nursing as a second career when she was in early thirties.

 

Husband, soon to be dad , barrel aged beer fan, elk Hunter, and analyst for a bank!
