I dunno... it's got to suck pretty bad for me to not drink it. I usually don't buy a six of something I'm not familiar with. It happens more to me with variety packs. I will still usually drink them over time. The one exception was Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. I just flat drain poured that stuff.

Take them to bottle shares, give them away, cellar them for science, etc.

The bigger problem I have is just too much good beer and not enough time to drink it. I've got a big backlog of beer I like but haven't gotten around to drinking all of it because I usually like trying something new instead on top of having two kegs of homebrew on tap. So a lot of beer gets overlooked. Still I end up with beers I don't care for and frankly they just sit until someone feels like wasting their taste buds on it or until it gets used for cooking. Also have some stuff cellaring on purpose.

Drink them then don't buy it again!

I'll keep them in the back of the fridge. Eventually, I'll be broke and unable to buy the beer I want, but at least I'll have a backup. It's happened before, and it'll happen again.

A bit of all of the above. Usually I buy a single to check the beer out, unless I'm very confident that I will like it.

    1. I try to drink them anyway.
    2. I try to give them away.
    3. I use them for target practice.

#3 is the most fun, to be honest. Give 'em a good shake and blow them up with the 9mm or 0.357 mag. Yeehaw!

I have two friends that work in the beer store that I go to. We buy 3 different sixers at a time and take 2 each from all 3. This way we are not committed to all 6 and we dont wast money. just this last week we bought Ballast's CBFTS, Dead Ringer, and Pumpkin Down together and mixed and matched. Its worked out great so far. Just a suggestion

    Lots of things.

    Mixing/experiment with aging
    Family and friends
    Cooking
Extras for trades (if I appear to be in the minority according to ratings)
Feed them to the sewer monster if they are truly worhty
Knock people out it with them in bar fights

...if it's a dark enough beer, however, that I don't enjoy drinking straight up - then I braise meats with it (not brats).

See if friends like it and give it away.

    Rarely: cook with it.

Dependent on the style: spike it with bourbon and try it again.

That said, I'm pretty savvy with stuff like this. It's not common that I buy a single bottle (or pint at a bar) that I don't like, much less an entire 6pk.

Cooking with those are the best way to make room in the fridge

Stick to IPAS only, i can almost handle the bad ones. No pilsners or lagers. Might be too dank then drain pour. Also, if something sits too long i dont feel bad about just trashing it.

I generally don't buy a large volume of a beer I have not tried individually. If I tire of something I have six of, I'll share it with a friend or use it for cooking, and I can''t think of too any examples where that happened. I have never drain poured a beer yet unless it got too warm to drink or it was infected.
