I'm eating some spicy tuna rolls and sea weed salad, and drinking a SNPA, and while its not a bad combo, I can't help but think that there is a style more suited to this type of food. Just lookin for some opinions

A nice Pilsner seems to hit the spot for me with sushi.

Saison, hefeweizen, gose, maybe a well aged, not too sour, lambic. Lots of good pairings. If I was having seaweed salad right now, I'd want the gose.

A lot of beers hopped with Sorachi Ace will go pretty well with sushi. I've also had good results with Hitachino White and Red Rice.

Wheat based lighter brews, Kolsch, German/Czech Pils, The Hitachino ginger beer is a nice palate cleanser.

or a nice Pinot noir... preferably with Maguro

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is particularly nice, because of the peppery notes

I usually go for a hefeweizen or a light lager like a pilsner or Munich helles. Saisons work pretty well for me too.

I always like a good pilsner or helles with sushi. Something nice and light but done well

Paulaner Hefeweizen. I had this not long ago at a Sushi Restaurant in Cambridge. It worked really well together.

That SNPA would work well w/ a tempura roll. But for non-fried sushi yeah I'd go pils, kolsch, etc.

I second the gose, saltiness matches the soy sauce

Pepper Saison. If you don't have that a Duvel Tripel Hop. The Belgiumie goodness mixed with good 'ol heavy handed hops.

After that a sour or gose is good.

    Enjoy

This. Regular ol' Duvel is also fantastic. I love saisons with sushi as well. Ommegang Hennepin works great as ginger is one of the spices in that beer which compliments sushi very well.

Sapporo, sometimes Kirin. I usually only eat sashimi so nothing that will be too much for the food. One sushi restaurant I go to he won't let you have beer while you're eating sushi.

But one of my regular places has Societe Harlot now, its a belgian pale.

I love beer and all but I'm all about that hot sake with my sushi.
