So what do you find great about this year in beer? Whether it has to do with the craft beer scene in general or just your own beer-related adventures.
For me, I'm really liking the fact that "smaller" breweries are collaborating with some of the more widely distributed craft beer breweries. While I understand that Brux and Super IPA may not be the best representations of Russian River and Alpine brews respectively, I think it's great that they're able to distribute a beer to a wider market.

I am still happy to be alive and have some money to spend on beer from new breweries.
Yes even here in Oregon the newbies keep coming!

This beer year for me included:
    • meeting my now boyfriend at Churchill's Renaissance
    • a trip to RRBC for the Beatification release
    • drinking bombers of Alpine on the streets of Vegas
    • DLD where I got to meet a lot of my BA friends IRL (and where my bf asked me to be his gf D'AWWWW:slight_smile:)
    • slaughtering wales
    • GABF in October!
    • and other stuff ^_^
As much as I love beer, it's really the experiences and the people I share them with that make it all worth while.

Loved the period of time where hoptimum, deviant dales, and palate wrecker were released. Also, dorado, stone ruination 10th/16th/enjoy buy. A lot of great new DIPAs this year so far.

To the moderators of this site: this is not a snarky comment but rather a question and a point being made.

Is this beer year you're talking about a calendar year or some sort of a fiscal year? If it's a calendar year, you're a bit early, since there are 4 months or so to go.

On a personal note, I'm happy that I have been able to leave some beers on the shelf this year. I don't "need" all the latest and greatest beers that came out throughout the year.

Crushing wales in a little gueuze bar then waking up for breakfast with Cantillon. Many other great tastings, fests and trades that went down so far this year.

Edit: Oh, and my friend's wedding that had 3 HF kegs and I spent most of the night mixing Edward and Abner.
