    Hey guys,

I hope this is the right place to post this. I'm curious to know what it will take to get a Bourbon Dark Lord. I know they are hard to get and don't want to post a lowball offer on the trading forums. I live close to CCB and have multiple Huna for trade... What do you think I would need to add to get what I'm looking for?

    Cheers! Thanks for the help!

    - Nate

And you can also get a sense for what is being offered for a BADL by doing a search in the forums. Simply type in "BADL".

I'd say 1:1 with DB Huna sounds fair to me. I'd do it if I had a DB Huna.

2012 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Lord back in March was good, but not mindblowingly so and certainly not worth what it takes to get it right now (which was a Rare+). Just my 2 cents.

Question...Do the 2012 DL variants retain that nasty green apple taste? I had 2012 reasonably fresh & recently had it again. 2yrs have helped to fade that taste but it is definitely still there. To my palate, even muted, that off flavor ruins the beer.

the 2012 DL Variants are actually the 2011 base beer. The green apple taste exists in all the 2013 variants I have tried since that is the 2012 base beer.

I finally drank my second bottle of BBDL last night and although the bourbon has faded some and it didn't live up to my ridiculously high expectations, it's still an absolutely amazing beer. My wife and I remain as oddballs who actually prefer BBDL over BVDL.

That said, when trading you usually don't know the cellar conditions and that's tough. If someone put it in a 65F closet or basement it'll have faded even more.

Like all highly traded beers it's probably not worth what you have to give up for it unless you're also giving up beers that aren't worth what you have to give up. That said, I'm still ISO more, or perhaps a more recent variant I haven't tried.

Phishforce, that makes sooo much sense. Unfortunately, my only BVDL is a 13. Bleh. Clearly, I shoulda been thinking...

Of the 2012-2014 vintages of BVDL, I actually preferred fresh 2013 to all the others. I might be in the minority tho... and certainly don't know how it is drinking now.

I liked '12 better than '13 BVDL, but I didn't get the green apple thing at all in the '13 FWIW.

I didn't see mention of it in the reviews of the 2013 BVDL. Even with the regular 2012 DL some people seem more averse to it.
