The Marquis of Granby is the title held by the eldest sons of the Dukes of Rutland.
One in particular , John Manners 1721 to 1770, is best known today for being popularly supposed to have more pubs named after him than any other person - due to his practice of setting up old soldiers of his regiment as publicans when they were too old to serve any longer.
We have the original Marquis of Granby pub in Granby (where else) , originally called the Dragon which explains why it is on Dragon Street.
When Brewster's Brewery , who have since bought the pub, brought out a beer called Marquis the TV cameras were invited to record the (then, now the Duke) Marquis of Granby drinking Marquis in the Marquis of Granby at Granby.

My avatar is the family seat, Belvoir (pronounced Beaver) Castle.

Red Sox fan, originally from Maine, now living in Minnesota. 69 because it's my favorite number. Should have been 66 because that's when I first started watching the Sox on TV.

BobbySue is one half of the couple in the Steve Miller Band song "Take the Money and Run" which is one of the first songs I remember listening to on the radio as a kid. 22 just just a number that rhymes with the name.
