What does your BA username mean?

iron chef miyagi has been my nickname since Home Ec in high school, and 13 is my favorite number as well as my favorite basketball player Steve Nash's number aka MR MVP aka White Chocolate aka One of the Greatest Point Guards of All-Time.

Totally didn't know I hit the character limit at Lordquackingstic until much later and just kept it.

 

I had to come up with something on the fly and BeerIdiot was my attempt at self-deprecation (although some might think it is an apt descriptor). Having lurked a while before signing up on here, I already expected to get called out as a noob sooner or later so I figured I'd just beat everyone to the punch and wear it as a badge of pride. Now I use it on any beer site/app I sign up on. I've said it before, but I hope to someday graduate to BeerImbecile.

Oh, and I live in southern California (L.A.).

 

This is the same screen name I've been using for close to 10 years on various cigar boards. Cubatobaco (actually Cubatabaco) initially owned the cigar brands and was responsible for the production and sales (now Habanos S.A.). Needless to say, I am a huge cigar nerd and now one for beer.

I enjoyed craft beer before, but I spent the weekend in DE and visited DFH and visited their pub in Rehoboth. After drinking everything they had to offer, I began to explore the world of craft beer. The slope was very slippery...lol.

 

I once went to a Microsoft business conference with my friend and i needed a business name. Since my friend made the arrangements he call my company "Chuckles Schmuckles". I was so embarrassed and laughed so hard when i had to check in under that name. The schmuckles part of it became my nickname.

 

Its what I do for a living. I'm the guy that keeps the lights on. My customers call me Lightman. This site said Lightman was already taken, so I added the 1. Lightman

 

Just wanted to say I'm an MSU alumnus and current graduate student there too. I've wondered if you were a genuine bulldog before. There is some decent beer here now, local breweries and better distribution. Btw my sn is my initials and just some numbers, I was in a hurry to join and didn't think to come up with the obligatory beer/hop pun.

 

Hops and Malt

To bad I was buzzed and misspelled it when I registered. From a German saying,

"Hopfen und Malz, Gott erhalts."

 

Mine is just a combination of the words "botulism" and "lizard". It came to me in a daydream once and I thought it was funny, so I started using it for usernames online, and now I use it for every site I join.

 

Nothing exciting...just a piece of my last name.

I wanted to change it to my childhood nickname "Dueces" (played second base throughout my life and through college, it's my favorite number, and for some reason I constantly did things twice), but I couldn't change it once I made a profile. You think I would have made another profile just to do it twice (and yes I tried) but I couldn't under the same email address.

The screen name is because I am a Geologist.

The avatar photo is because the first can in my beer can collection was a 7 oz. aluminum Rolling Rock can in the early 1970s. It has long since disappeared and much of my collection has been downsized, but my Rolling Rock cone top remains my favorite.

 

I grew up in San Luis Obispo (SLO for short), went to school at UC Santa Cruz, and like finding new beers. Thus, it is a pun of sorts.
