What does your BA username mean?

oh, I don't know, I'm just some guy…..

 

Mine is my name... that way I can remember it while drunk.

 

Well, back in the day, I joined BA not with an intention to really be part of the community, but to be able to use search. For those of you who weren't around, back in 2007 only registered users could search, making the site otherwise pretty useless.

Even from my early days of drinking beer, I was laying the foundation to be a ticker, by starting a detailed log of the beers I drank and the beers I wanted. In other words, I was building a beer index.

Since that was my only use for BA at the time, and I didn't really think a username would therefore matter, I just went with beerindex for simplicity's sake.

 

I was going to but I didn't want to monitor another email address and after I made my first few trades I thought it would be a pain in the ass.

 

JW Lees Harvest Ale 1999 was my first beer from a firkin. My favorite beer to this day.

Bones is a nickname of mine to such an extent that some people I know very well do not know my real name. 10 was my number from soccer.

I am a United States Army Ranger, and I enjoy beer.

 

Franziskaner Hefeweizen was one of the first beers I ran across that I kept coming back to. Still my favorite hefeweizen but I'm more into IPA's & stouts. Now I'm almost embarrassed of it. I picked it out 8 years prior to reviewing. I drank almost exclusively imports and now it is a rare day when I do. I really wish I had started reviewing sooner.

Great thread. Nice change up in this age of internet anonymity, but my screen name is BORING....first name with first two letters of my last name.

 

Mine is my first name, plus my last name minus the vowels.

First message board I participated in was a University of Virginia football fan site. Everybody was SomethingorSomehereHoo (Virginia's unofficial nickname is Wahoos or Hoos for short). At the time I lived in the Cory-Merrill neighborhood in South Denver, sooooo...

Then I just carried it over into a few other boards I frequented, like this one.

As I build vacuum tube amps and audio equipment for a living, I wish I went with 807..... a type of vacuum tube and Ham radio slang for a bottle of beer!
