What does your BA username mean?

Mine means that, at base, I am NOT hiding from anyone! I want ppl to be able to associate my online life with me IRL.

I got the nickname, "Woody" on my first ship, the USS Fulton (AS-11), while a Deck seaman. I realized quickly that wearing my fragile silly-vilian wire-frame glasses was not going to make it when chipping, grinding & painting. The Navy was happy to issue BCGs (birth control glasses, since NOBODY was getting laid sporting those bad boys), beginning in Boot Camp. For a long time, my scrip didn't change, so I had upwards of fifteen (15) pairs at one point, in various stages of disrepair. One evening, Liberty Call went down unexpectedly early & Boats Duffy yells at me, "Yo, Woody Allen, get the f**k offa that ladder, secure that paint & brush, grab a broom, foxtail & dustpan & hop to it! We're outta here!" Everybody within earshot knew that it was an allusion to my namesake's heavy black-frame glasses & soon, that became my nickname & it stuck.

My surname really is "ChANdler" & while the pipe-smoking fellow in my avatar is only pseudo-Great Uncle Raymond, my first cousin is Colby Chandler, VP of Ballast Point BC.

Why all lower-case? I hate the CAPS & curse them for winning the Stanley Cup! Actually, I take after e. e. cummings, to a point. He was so cowed by his experiences as an ambulance driver in WWI that he no longer felt worthy of any capitalization. I am not THAT circumspect, but I do not mind my name in all lower-case, all one string for ease of typing.

Do you know of Joey Sindelar? He is/was a golf professional that always played in The Greater Greensboro Open, now the currently happening Wyndham out at Sedgefield. He always said Horseheads was home. Also, he won here years ago.

My name is Steve and I've sired a lot of chilluns.

 

I had a massive beard when I made my BA account and while the beard has since departed us (trimmed short, ill go to the grave before I clean shave), the username sticks.

My avatar is the guitar player Infernus from the band Gorgoroth. Im a huge black and death metal fan and wanted to incorporate that into my avatar. I always loved how evil and menacing Infernus looked in that picture so it was an easy choice.

 

Mine is the epitome of gastronomic orgasms. Crawfish and beer.
