Named after my 2 beloved "beer dogs", my black lab named Taddy, and a Shep/Rot mix named Newcastle (Nuke).

2 of my early "crafty" beers (back in those days, they were mostly imports) that I loved were Samuels Smith's Taddy Porter and Newcastle. I actually liked the Oatmeal Stout better than Taddy porter. This was the late 90's

 

Heh! I use mario1296 virtually everywhere else (besides beer sites) for the same reason except I was the 1296th brother to join Phi Psi at my school.

Siggy was my favorite dog of all time. A little badass as seen in the avatar. Lost him to a tragic accident a few years ago. He was born on Dec 5, hence 125. RIP little buddy.

 

Ma deuce is the nickname for the 50 cal machine gun. I spelled "deuce" wrong for a few years so I just stuck with "duece".

I was a 50 cal gunner for a convoy escort team in Iraq back in 2011

 

My last name is synonymous with "brakes," and I've broken my jaw twice. When I broke my jaw the second time, a friend that took me to the hospital called me "brokejaw brakes," and it stuck. I use "brokejaw" as a nickname.

cavedave is my attempt to make folks forget that they used to call me by a nickname I hated, Captain Caveman, without discarding its essence. This nickname was gotten when I was the impetus for our group at the time to explore a treasure trove of crawl caves we got a map to in the Shawangunks, and used to explore and party in them.

Even my friend's 4 year old son calls me cavedave now.

 

I always wondered about why deuce was spelled wrong, but I did get the 50 cal reference when I first saw your name.
