Its at par because its easy to get and I get it a lot, no need to settle for less. Otherwise I've been sipping two hearted, sculpin, nugget nectar, 90/60 minute, and whats left of my hopslam and Jai Alai. Next question my son?

Yeah, what's ur address? And is there a cover?

Thank you. Maybe not the absolute best ipa ever, but soooo good. Also a shout out to head hunter. Those two are in a super close race for my "par" ipa.

    PtE….
My very first IPA was from Stone 8 some years ago. That's when I jumped forward into the craft world. Never drank the crap beers back in the days. Always Lowenbrau, Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, or even Michelob. I had a bottle of Pale Ale from Stone and thought WTF, meh. Stone IPA soon after and thought yes! But it wasn't till a few months later I first discovered Pliny and I thought WOW! Then, it was the best damn DIPA I ever tasted. Today? It is still pretty damn good. Yes, I've had Heady many times since. And yes there are so many "outstanding" ipa's out there. But I alway's compare my ipa's/dipa's to Pliny these days. And "pliny is slowly losing ground. If I find PtE in the cooler I will buy a bottle or 2. Its still in my fridge on a monthly rotation. But there are so many better ipa's/dipa's out there today. Ex: St Archer DIPA & Mosaic DIPA, ESBC Hammerland DIPA, NobleAle's I Love it & Shower series, Tongue Tickles, etc, Beachwood BBQ's IPA's, etc, etc. . . . . . .

In the easier to find larger brewery group
    Odell IPA
    FW Union Jack
    Stone IPA

I also agree Torpedo is one fine easier to find IPA (or Extra IPA)

To name a few. Really there are at least a few in most major craft beer states that are killing it. If we go to smaller players there are lots but it sounded like the question was more about easier to find.

As a base, Saranac Legacy IPA. If it matches Stone IPA or Dale's Pale Ale... then we got a winner.

I agree with Fresh Squeezed for sure. The beer is just all around good. I find that it is a perfect par beer in every way: cost, flavor, aroma, and hoppiness in general. Another in terms of straight-up west coast IPA flavor is sculpin. Just an overall solid beer. While sculpin may be above par (or I guess below par to be more accurate), I can have high standards can’t I?! LOL

Sculpin, Rampant...readily available, decent prices. Sounds par to me.

    Lagunitas IPA

I have to agree with @chrisjws. My first impression of Lagunitas was "Wow"...then I tried their "Maximus" which really scores high for my preferred flavor profile. For me, Lagunitas set the bar for good IPAs IMO.

    Odell IPA.

Its the IPA that got me into the style and probably the IPA I have drunk the most of in my life.
