I have seen a few beer store's posting stuff in regard to a "vertical" I have looked and I cannot find what this means anywhere. It was in reference to a stout and then a stout and a barleywine. Any takers?

A vertical is simply several different years of the same beer, usually tasted side by side so as to see the difference with aging or between the years (vintage in wine speak).
