I will have to check the batch but I believe it's from the most recent release, so whatever batch that was.

Could Beat be the feature beer to land a Proprieters? Is that a fair 1:1 trade?Just looking for some guidance/advice. I'd also be interested in examples of other beers Beat was traded for. Thank you BA!

    Sure.

No. 3:1 would get it done very quickly. 2:1 might get it done, but I doubt your inbox would be flooded.

To be clear up front, I have most of a case of Beat 006 (the most recent batch) in my closet, so that damns my opinion around here and half or more of people who read anything I write will think my assessment is shaded heavily by that.

Bottles were, as described above, $18 apiece brewery only 1000-case release (12btl/case) that sold out in (I believe) just over a day. 1 case/person max. I don't think bottles made it through day 2 (although they did last into day 2), and at 3pm on Day 1 I was buying case ~700 if the RR employee with whom I spoke was correct.

Some trades that were not with regular trading partners, but where I didn't really care all that much and we both just wanted to get the appropriate good beer into the other guy's hands were:

    $4$ 3:1 bbpt5 (2 Beat:6 bbpt5) ... actually 5 bbpt5 and 1 bb4d that the trader recommended I try in place of a bbpt5. Good guy.

    1 Westy XII

An acquaintance of mine recently brought some fresh ZD to a share and said he received a case of it for one of his Beat 006s.

I can confirm that those three trades got done. I can't confirm anything with Prop.

I've had it on draft at RR two separate times and from a bottle on two occasions, and it was fantastic every time (very sour... so sour in fact that when I had it side by side with Supplication at RR the Supplication didn't register as sour much at all in comparison), and I can say that I definitely enjoyed the pours from the bottles more than the draft (carbonation was better being the primary reason) aside from the draft being much cheaper. Everything I've been told is that this batch is supposedly the best one yet, but I cannot comment, having not tried other batches. This one is damn tasty, though, and I will probably hold onto a lot of what I still have for personal enjoyment unless something comes along that I really want to try and cannot reasonably land otherwise.

Realistically, it should trade for about $18-20 of brewery only, moderately limited brews of quality... just get friendly with a NorCal trader. Depending on what your guy wants, Tired Hands growlers might be a good way to go, and good HF stuff would get it done without trouble. Bulk Heady would probably work just fine, and a couple Double Sunshine should set you up nicely and work out to a nice 2:1 at $4$.

thank you for the detailed reply...I, err, came into 2 bottles of it while visiting NorCal this past week (random act of kindness by someone I met out there, with him accepting ONLY my promise to send him some "cool east coast stuff," which I plan on doing pronto).

I'm definitely keeping ONE of my bottles - I got to drink some on tap at RR and I just loved the stuff - but I would like to trade the other to get something I'd love. I really am trying to get a Prop somehow but it just demands such insane return, I know it was geographically very limited but so is something like Beat. And right around the same bottle count. I would totally "double" the rare factor to get a Prop though.

Think 1 Beat (bottled 9/11/2013), 1 Consecration (bottled 1/13/2013), and 1 Supplication (bottled 10/21/2013) - don't know what batches those are - is a good offer? I could add 1-2 solid beers to it if it would get me a Prop.

Oh hell, I'm just going to go try, lol

I managed to get a prop + 2 BCBS '12 for 2 beats so OPs deal including consecration + supplication might be a tad too much...

I completed a trade based on 3:1 Beat: Prop, I evened the $4$ with Pipeworks CTA, Half Acre Big Hugs, Permanent Funeral, and another PW bomber, forgot which one.

I'm in the process of getting my trade done. 1 Prop for 1 Beat, 1 Consecration, 1 Supplication, 1 Angel's Share, 1 BA Blackout.

My guy is generously tossing in some quality locals from places like Pipeworks, Revolution, Half-Acre (which is all I asked for). I believe we're both about to be very happy :-)

Some will argue that this isn't a fair trade. But, the only two people involved with the trade feel it's fair, so it's a fair trade. Enjoy your Proprietors OP.

Would those people think I'm giving up too much? or not enough? just out of curiosity.

Because I cut my teeth, so to speak, trading massive amounts of beer here between '06-'08, and trading then was NEVER about winning. it was about each person getting beer they wanted, so I choose to continue to trade with that mindset. I have a good job, a good life, and I just want to taste good beers I can't get. If someone gets "more" beer from me than I get in return, so be it. As long as we're both happy.

    Cheers BA

Like you said, as long as both parties are happy its a fair trade. Enjoy the Proprietors, it is amazing.

My closet tells me it was What Lurks in the Dark. And then also I believe Arctic Panzer Wolf and a ZD, but those would have to be confirmed by my stomach.

I also traded: 1:4 for BCBCS (or Backyard, it was a bigger trade), 1:1 for Atrial, and 2 beats for 2x Twilight of the Idols and 4x Heady topper.

So would Bo & Luke be a fair trade 1:1?
