Someone brought this into my liquor store without a receipt and asked for a refund. Does anyone know what this date is? The color of the beer is too dark and the caps are yellow (not like recent caps). The code is DI12A046 Thanks for your help!

If it is Corona or Corona Light, the date is Arpil 12, 2004. The first letter is the year (2001=A, 2002=B, 2003=C....M=2013) The second letter is the month, going in reverse order ie. A=December, B=November.........L=January. The next two numbers are the day code. That is some old beer!
Odd 1st post. Color of the beer is too dark? Compared to what? What beer is it? Caps are yellow? Not like recent caps? You lost me and then you lost me <again>.
Looks suspicious. Bottled beers are never filled up to the cap. Looks like someone bottled their urine.
I don't know if there can be one code-cracking formula for all breweries, but this article makes it sound like their sleuthing result will answer all queries for you. http://consumerist.com/2006/02/01/the-secret-code-of-beer-expiration-dates/
