So I just opened a pound of Amarillo from Hopsdirect. I used up 6oz in the boil and set aside another 3oz for DH.

I foodsaver the rest and weigh at 12oz. 5oz extra what the hell:grimacing:!

Great, now I have to use up an extra 5oz of Amarillo:rolling_eyes:. Thanks for laying more brewing on me Hopsdirect:grinning:!

Please . . . save your sympathy for someone who needs it. NiceFly was probably brewing drunk and has no idea how many hops went in the kettle! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hops direct is good about that. They are more "generous" with hops they grow on their farm vesus what they buy from other places and sell, like Citra and Amarillo.

Last year I got around 2 ounces more of amarillo, and they were literally within half an ounce on the Citra. Ironically Amarillo was the hop everyone wanted last year that went poof fast due to the crop shortage.

I'm already stocked on Amarillo, and haven't opened my pellet and leaf bag yet from them to see how much more I have. Need to work through the remainder of my 2012 crop first.

I too am a fan of this hop, ever since I first tried Gumballhead

I got extras / bags that were overweight from hops direct too. I will certainly use them again. I would have been happy with bags that weighed exact, BTW.

They tightened up the scale during the hop crisis. Really, before then you would get closer to 2 pounds of the farm grown hops.
