I wouldn't consider myself a newbie to the craft beer world. There is just so much variety both in styles and breweries. As we all know it is impossible to try everything. I was just hoping to get some input from fellow craft beer enthusiasts. I plan on trying some of your favorites (if I haven't had them already) and I'm just curious to see some of the different opinions out there. Please feel free to be specific when naming the beer and style. It would be extremely boring if only IPAs and Imperial Stouts were listed. Cream Ales, Brown Ales, Barleywines would be nice because I have little experience with them.

Although the recommendations so far are good, I always like to give another perspective -- every beer on this list in my opinon is worth seeking out - all are my favorites in the particular style, and most are ones I buy on a regular basis (or seasonally)

    Cream Ale: Sixpoint Sweet Action
Pale Ale: Sierra Nevada, Alaskan Freeride APA
IPA: Bells Two Hearted ("Midwestern" style), Dogfish Head 60 Minute ("East Coast"), Bear Republic Racer 5 (not sure if this is "West Coast" or not, but it's amazing fresh); also try Lagunitas Lil Sumpin', Sumpin', it's a "wheat IPA", but is in my top 5 favorite beers all around
Imperial IPA: Victory Dirtwolf / Lagunitas Sucks / Founders Double Trouble - all are similar to me, in that they are fruity and balanced (for the style)... would also suggest picking up DFH 90 minute for a slightly different experience
Brown Ale: Big Sky Moose Drool; would also suggest DFH Indian Brown Ale - it's a style "mashup", but delicious!
    Porter: Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald
Stout (Milk): Left Hand Milk Stout (not personally a big fan, but I'd be amiss not to include it)
Stout (Oatmeal): I particularly like New Holland's "The Poet"
Stout (Imperial): I really like Founders Imperial, myself
Stout (Breakfast/coffee): You have to try Founders Breakfast Stout (not the KBS, the standard)
Amber: Not a big fan of the style, but Alaskan's Amber is quite good
American Wild/Sour: Jolly Pumpkin La Roja
    Belgian Pale: Duvel
Belgian Tripel: La Fin Du Monde (top 10 beer for me)
    Belgian Quad: Rochefort 10
Belgian Ale (Brett): Jolly Pumpkin Oro De Calabaza (another of my top 10 beers)
Wheat Beer: Not a big fan here, either, but Bell's Oarsman is unique and delicious, and I think trying Hoegaarden (Belgian Wit) is a necessity, although I'm also not much of a fan.
Scotch Ale: It's Bourbon Barrell Aged, but Founder's Backwoods Bastard is an amazing beverage
Saison: Goose Island's Sofie is partially barrel aged, but is easy to get and is amazing!
Doppelbock: Korbinian or Troegenator (from Troegs)
Pale Lager : New Belgium Summer Helles should be available where you are and is delicious. (most of my favorite pale lagers are local to me or don't have very wide distribution - e.g. Hotter than Helles from Cigar City)
Oktoberfest: Perfect Timing - The Ayinger is amazing!
Pilsner: Try Trumer if you can get your hands on it fresh and not-skunked, otherwise Victory's Prima Pills is decent.

Not a big barleywine fan (but Firestone Walker's Sucaba is amazing!), and you can easily find people's favorite of those, and also of big and barrell aged stouts, so I didn't go there, either.

Hope that helps -I think I could live off the beers in the above list indefinitely... mmm...
