SSIA Having had the privilege of tasting a plethora of beers in the past couple of years, like Heady, Sucks, KBS, ZD, Permanent Funeral, Hopslam, FIS, Dreadnought etc... I just can't stop coming back to Jai Alai! First off it's brewed right here in my home state, it's very reasonably priced, it's year-round and I always get it super fresh, oh and btw it just so happens to be a world class IPA taboot. Was just wondering what my fellow BA's "Ol Stand-by's are out there?

Ithaca Flower Power. I definitely don't drink it as much as I should. What a magnificent and more importantly readily available beer!

Rhinegeist Truth. Brewed about a mile from my house. A good bargain ($9.99 per six pack of cans). Outstanding IPA.

A "stand-by" to me means very good, and also very available. Easy to grab and be ready for the weekend. For me, it is either Zombie Dust or Gumball Head. Both have had pretty good availability at the brewery for carry out this whole beginning of this year. I'm fortunate to work where I pass by the brewery almost every week, so it is accessible to me, and I like both the beers. It doesn't upset me if I can't get Zombie Dust on some visits, Gumball Head is almost always available and also very good. At $10/sixer, compared to other beers that are many notches below for the same price or more, I'd say this is a good deal.

DFH 60 Min...go to IPA (although Hoponius Union and Jai Alai are now readily available by me)...

Saison Dupont or Orval are available wherever bread is sold and are phenomenal.

Bitburger for me. I love IPA's but for some reason, I always come back to this one. Great flavor, cheap, refreshing, and something I can drink all night.

I'm so jealous that you can get Zombie Dust whenever you want. That's such an awesome beer. Oh well. I guess Flower Power will do.

Sure... but there are LOTS of great beers out there, and lots of people probably live near where they are made. Is Zombie Dust really good? Yeah, I do like it a lot. There's others I like as much if not better than this, but live nowhere close to their availability. Hell, if I lived in Denver, Drydock Hop Abomination would be my call.

And to the post above... yes, Moon Man is very good, would be a great "go to" beer - then again, you do have to live in Wisconsin or just across the border to have access to this one.

Seeing as I live above my favorite bar...that has had two hearted on tap since I was 21 (26 now)...and I credit myself as being the reason they get a keg of hopslam every year....I'm gonna go with two hearted.

    (screw run-on sentences!)
