I take $150 in cash each payday (I get paid monthly) and put it in an envelope. When it's gone, it's gone.

I take care of all the expenses and bills in my house, so i just judge from week to week how much i should be spending on beer. Sometimes i still spend more than i probably should. Either way, i find it best to leave the wife completely in the dark.

Nice!! Totally worth giving up a few weeks of brew to have your own house. Then you will have more room to store your beer once you get it.

I try to keep to about $10, but oftentimes it averages up to $15. I'm working on being stricter with myself. Considering what I get paid through my teaching assistant salary, it's hard to look at that number and say it's okay to spend $500+ a year on beer.

Well I go to school on scholarship. I do not pay rent. Have very few responsibilities..For the last three or four years I have spent roughly 5,000$ a year on beer. Or about 100$ a week on the brew.

I was starting to feel like I was in way too deep, but this is my range also, so I feel better now.

I go to the bottle store every tuesday when I get off work. Usually spend 50-100.

Right now the amount of money I spend (which isn't an allowance) is around $20-30 a week, maybe a little more if I pick up something expensive.

I'm really trying keep my spending down now that I'm recently unemployed, but I'd say it's an average of $20 a week although that can change wildly depending on releases, trips and whatnot. Recently I've been budgeting more towards drinking at my favorite bars so I can try more limited releases and I'm trying to dig into my cellar to keep from buying new bottles.

I try to stay under $25 a week. $30 is my upper limit.

Good question. I don't call the money that I spend on beer an 'allowance', but I get the idea. Sometimes a beer run
can set me back a Franklin, but the next couple of weeks I won't spend a dime. So who knows what the average is. Then there's the taproom expense....hmmm...

I should note that theoretically this also includes money spent at bars and for social events (like when I bring a sixer to a party / potluck, etc.) but in reality, even though I almost never go to bars anymore, these are more or less in addition to the $10ish I spend in a week.

Average is probably like $25-35. Depending on the week it could be $0 to $100 though. I tend to buy in spurts and stock up and then not buy much for a week or two after that.

I,m somewhere in the 25-100 dollar range. It all depends on what the bills look like and what the check looks like for that pay period really.
