What no weekend thread?

I was standing fine, though don't ask me how I got home.

How was the mild? Arbor have fast become one of my favourite brewers. Their Black Eyed PA is wonderful.

And yes I have been desperately trying to recreate my first experience with Gold Label when it was a mightier 10.9 % ABV but no matter how hard I try to convince myself it just ain't happening. It's not that its terrible, its just that it isn't very good either.

 

The mild was brilliant! At £3 a pint it was actually a great price as well. Can't say the same for the Euston tap bottles though.

 

No, the bottles are a rip-off, as are the bottles in the Craft Beer Co. and the Cask Pub and Kitchen, but I wouldn't even bother with them given the variety on draft.

 

Currently on Thwaites' Triple C - it's rather insipid despite being hopped with cascade.

 

Yeah - I didn't think the IPA was up to much either. I like some of Thwaites' brews, but their traditional British types seem to be better than the newer ones.

 

I've now moved on to a Struise Pannepeut 2009.....

Pretty good - quite fruity and seriously boozy.....

 

No beer tonight boys. Just a bottle of Pieropan La Rocca 2007 over dinner with the Mrs. In know, I'm a traitor.

 

I'm currently drinking a Kernel Saison and having mixed feelings about the Chelsea win.
