If you were to share one beer with your dad on Father's Day (or any other day) what beer would you choose and why? My dad is not into beer, but if I was going to share one beer with him it would probably be a Prairie Bomb just because it's my favorite. I also know he would probably not like an IPA. I ask this question with the sensitivity of knowing that not everyone here still has their dad around, but since Father's Day is this weekend I figured it would be an appropriate topic.

My father hates very bitter beers. I would probably go with Kane Golden Galaxy, really nice pale ale.

This is a tough one for me, with my dad's passing earlier this year, it will be the first Fathers Day without him...that being said, he wasn't much of a beer drinker, but he was in Germany during WWII, and always talked about a "sweet"beer that he liked...I never figured out what it was, but if could share one with him, I'd find whatever he was talking about, and drink one with him....Salud!

Allagash Curieux..... He wasn't a beer drinker but he was a whiskey drinker and I know he would appreciate the elegant subtlety of this particular beer.

At this point, it'd have to be a Michelob Ultra. He has zero taste for craft beers, this is his go-to golf course brew and it doesn't mess with his diabetes too much. Ideally, I'd like to invite him over to bust out a Hunah or a Darkness but just not going to happen! Cheers to all the Dads!

Something local, pale, and preferably a lager. He will try anything, but he doesn't enjoy much else.

Usually when I get a new beer that I think my pops would like I always share with him, hes open to anything. Not so much the IPAs but definitely the stouts and porters. But if I could pick one...? Probably Zywiec Porter. It's a Polish style porter. He really digs that stuff. Ooor Atwater Vanilla Java Porter. One of his favs that I turned him on to.

My dad passed in 2006. His last few trips to the bar I'm certain led to drinking Natty Light for the evening, as that was the last brand he drank regularly. Whenever I visited him I usually had to track him down at a bar where the craftiest offering was possibly Michelob. I always had a Bud Light when I dropped in and raised no fuss whatsoever about it. I think I'd like to leave him with the memory of me enjoying the same beers that he did, as opposed to those "fancy pants" beers, but I'd change it up to the first beer I ever associated with him as a kid, which was Falstaff.

Prosit! And my condolences on your loss. And thanks to your father for his service in WWII.

Do you happen to know where in Germany he was stationed after the war?

My dad passed in 2005, way before myself or brother were in the craft beer phase.

If he was around, I'd be sharing some MBC Dinner and Treehouse beers from my run this weekend. Not sure he would even like them though! Sam Adams lager was as craft as he probably had.

Never got to have a drink with the old man, let alone an adult conversation. I suppose anything would do, but a Heady Topper would taste really good. RIP, dad.

My dad hates craft beers for the most part and loves BMC. He says he loves "domestic, light and cold" - knowing full well how "domestic" BMC really is. However, he was in California a few months ago and went to 4-5 different bars on foot since he didn't have a car to track me down a couple Pliny's since I had never had it. He ended up loving it after a few pints on his stops and brought back a bottle for himself.

So I'd say a Pliny. I might even pick up an AleSmith IPA since I think they are darn similar and see what he thinks on Sunday.
