I got a buddy coming to Florida from Colorado and I'm having trouble deciding on what to ask him to bring back. Thoughts... Personally love big IRS's (we get ten fidy here), Barleywine's, Saison's,Quad's, Witbier's, Blonde's, and Sour's. Little bit of all over the place. Thanks for any thoughts. This might help with distro ?'s http://www.seekabrew.com/ Thanks for any help.
Do you get beer from Great Divide? If not, then have your friend get you Yeti, in all its variations. Also, do you get Avery? If not, then have him try to track down some Uncle Jacobs stout and Mephistopheles.
Crooked Stave is always a good choice, most of their beers skirt the border between Saison and Sour. Elevation Beer Co. is just starting up but their first beer in bottles is Apis IV which is a Quad made with caramelized honey, almost braggot like in some ways. If he gets lucky he might be able to find BA Old Ruffian from Great Divide (others can chime in if they have seen any recently) Also, Russian River just sent out a batch of Salvation so you can probably pick up RR Salvation (BSDA), Avery Salvation (BSPA) and Collaboration not Litigation (a blend of the two).
Yeah we get Great Divide and Avery but very little Avery, had the meth (love it) will have him look for Uncle Jacobs Stout. Thanks
I really enjoyed the Quad from Elevation a lot. Crooked, Stave and Uncle Jacobs are good selections (as is Yetis but you get them). Funkwerks offers some nice saisons; both their regular Saison and my favorite from them, Tropic King, an imperial saison.
Elevation Apis IV Quad Funkwerks Saison or White Anything Crooked Stave Anything Russian River or Firestone Walker Goose Island Sofie Dry Dock Hefe & DIPA New Belgium La Folie (still available) Anything Odell (IPA, St. Lupulin, Saboteur or Shenanigans would be all great) Lost Abbey Deliverance (I'm pretty sure it's still on shelves some places)
RIS- uncle jacobs BW- BA old ruffian... can't find it? BM me, got a couple saison- check out great divide collette quad- boulevard sixth glass, or boulevard dark truth. dark truth is considered a stout but is brewed with belgian yeast strains and drinks like a quad to me anyway. wit- funkwerks white blonde- dry dock apricot blonde sour- boulevard love child 2
Oh, I forgot Dry Dock DIPA. They don't bottle date so a lot of folks I know only buy this from the brewery but if he is flying the brewery is somewhat on that side of town so it is worth checking out.
