I was thinking that the Mint Chocolate Imperial Stout, maybe the Cherry Chocolate Stout (low at 7.3% from), and maybe the Highway 78 Scotch Ale (8.8% from 12/17/10). I would really like to try these, but I was wondering if they would have held up at all. I am still not 100% on cellaring, but I know Stouts, Barleywines, Porters(?), strong ales, and sours, generally hold up with a high enough ABV.

    Unlikely, but relatively high ABV:
El Camino (Un)Real Black Ale (9.5% from 1/15/10)
Kona Coffee Macadamia Coconut Porter (8.5% from 6/29/09)
Juxtaposition Black Pilsner (10% from 3/27/09)
Belgian Style Triple Ale (9.5% from 6/4/08)

that's actually a great question, I still have a bottle of Mint Chocolate Stout from last year. I'd like to know if it ages well

Pop it open and you will know, or did you not have a fresh one?

Wow that's how old the Juxtaposition is? I had a bottle sometime last summer and I loved it. I would still do dirty, disgusting things to get my hands on a bottle of Macadamia Coconut Porter. I've got several bottles of MCIS and those are still tasty

I have a 12 pack of the Mint chocolate in my cellar. I saw Ken Schmidt last week at the AHA event at Stone. He said that the beer will only get better with a little age.

On the sides of the bottles it either has "Drink Fresh" or Cellaring instructions.

I had the Kona a month ago and I thought it was still drinking amazing. Very surprised at how well it held up.

Ugh. I saw the original Saison du Buff (I had the 2012 one fresh last year) and the Session Ale both still on store shelves at some weird place I had never been to but was told about by the owner of another store to look for Stone Verticals. The employees know nothing of what great stuff and way old/OOD stuff they have. Alas, nothing that actually stands up to some aging.

El Camino is not what it used to be, but is still holding up good. Had one a month or so ago and have a few in the cellar still. Had a Juxtapostion about 7-8 months ago and it was really enjoyable still.

Had a Cherry Chocolate and Mint Chocolate about 2 weeks ago. Cherry is on the fence as the cherry flavor is still burly, but the underlying stout seems to be fading and thinning around the edges. Still good though.

The Mint Chocolate is getting better. Some of the more aggressive mint flavors are smoothing out and the base stout is developing a little more complexity and adding some nice burnt and roasted flavors.

Maui Coconut is completely different at this point. The softer coconut and macadamia flavors are gone and the Kona seems to have taken a sharper acidity. Mouthfeel and body are impeccable though.

Have one bottle of the JP/Nogne/Stone collab sitting in the cellar. Had one a month ago and it was better than I remember.

Jealous. Also, Nogne apparently produces the collab each winter as a Special Winter Ale, and they are on their third iteration of it. For the life of me, I can't remember what it tastes like, but I know that I liked it or at least didn't not like it.

I'm so jealous of those with Mint Chocolate stout bottles, I couldn't track down a single bottle when it was released and I'd been looking forward to it so. Re-release!

Yeah, I had the two beers between that collaboration, but it wasn't distributed to MD for some reason (unlike their other collabs). http://www.stonebrewing.com/collab/mintchocolate/

I like Stone's new layout but they have moved a lot of things around and some of their distribution info for collabs contradicts one another depending on the link you view. Also, does anyone know if they will be releasing Lukcy Basartd again this year? Otherwise, I will have to go ISO.

I just had Lucky Bastard on tap last weekend at a place by me, so I'm guessing so?

Mint chocolate should have some legs. Should be good for another year at least.
