Didn't attend the event last year, but, as long as they keep bringing fresh Hubert in, they will continue to get like $15-20/week from me :grinning:

looks like small brewery list update (?): http://www.wtfinvitational.com/breweries/

have to research a handful of these; any 'sleepers'/tips, of the more obscure names?

[good topic for the 2016 thread]

hmm, same night as WTF: Crafty Fox will tap "GABF gems" via CSA from

Lawsons, Bell's, Half Acre, Two Roads, Council, Perennial, Fremont, Jack's Abby, Boneyard, Gigantic, Blackberry Farms, Stillwater, Off Color, La Cumbre, Greenbench, Almanac, Ecliptic, Crux, Cascade, AleSong, Jolly Pumpkin, Against the Grain, and Lord Hobo
Would expect to see a few of these at WTF...?
(I recall last year much-needed additions like, the week of)

Looks like a cool event. Wonder if we'll see some of the same things on Wednesday at Hops and Pie. They said they're having the event that day but haven't announced any details yet. Hopefully some of this stuff lasts for after WTF.

They will both tap cool beers but they won't be the same beers that are at WTF. Those breweries usually send some of their flagships for GABF tappings and special small batch releases for WTF.

Nice...this looks like an even better lineup than last year.

If you guys are fans of thirdhand information a friend of mine was told these interesting facts about WTF this year by a bartender at CS:

    1) No volunteers - Brewer's will pouring their own beers at all tables

    2) CSA bought beer from the breweries this year instead of just relying on donations in hopes of making sure enough supply is brought

That last bit might explain the $20 price bump.

They have purchased the beer for every WtF from what I have been told.

CS sending out a blast on their old mailing list to pimp this event since tickets are still available so it looks like last year's cluster fuck has definitely had an impact on this year's sales....

Maybe, but having the event so early in the week is probably also having an impact. I'm glad to see it, honestly. Hopefully that will motivate them to move the festival at least back to Wednesday next year if not Thursday.

I'd argue that it being on a Tuesday is a much bigger factor than the way last year went. With thousands coming in for gabf later in the week, I think this would sell out easily if it weren't on Tuesday. Hoping it doesn't sell out and it's even more laid back this year compared to last. Could be a perfect storm.

from initial/glancing research, of unfamiliar names (and/or breweries I've never had)...

most curious/eager to try: Draai Laag, Beachwood, Fonta Flora, AleSong; Ladyface?
(beers to look for? check these out in hour 2-3 or earlier?)

ostensibly not interesting/appealing: 18th Street, Cambridge, De Molen, Magic Rock (UK), Siren (UK), Birrificio Torrechiara (Panil?)...
correct me if wrong idea? worth trying?
seems like this year will have a lot of stouts (and IPAs) :astonished:

also wine & cider: AEppelTreow Winery, Frederiksdal (winery), L'Hermitière Cidre, Ribela cider

Of your list I would argue that Cambridge has done solid barrel aged beers for several years now, Siren and Magic Rock are doing the most experimental beer in the UK, so doubt they will have long lines but wouldn't sleep on either three...

It's important to vote with your dollars. After last year's debacle and the total radio silence afterwards there's simply no way I'd go no matter what the price or the brewery list. In the future? Maybe, who knows. But I think it's important to let a business know that that shit won't fly

Exactly this. They could announce a swimming pool full of A&T that you could swim laps in (I'll wait while you close your eyes and imagine that), and I still wouldn't buy a ticket.

I will mail a check to Water for People (a great non-profit by the way).
