I was reciently given an 8 gallon whiskey barrel and Im not sure what to brew to age in it. Hearing of any suggestions or stories of anyones experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Brew a citra DIPA clone, and ferment it with brett. Age for 1 year and bottle. Yum.

A nut brown ale would be nice in a whiskey barrel.

Now I have had an oaked DIPA but I dont think I have had a burbon aged one, It sounds interesting, I was also thinking possible a Triple or I guess the ageing time would also be perfect for a barleywine.
