Never been to Montreal but thinking about jumping in the car right now and heading up. Here are a few places I am considering: Lagabière Vices & Versa Dieu du Ciel! Réservoir L'Amère A Boire Le Cheval Blanc Le Saint Bock Benelux Brutopia Can any locals provide some additional / improved suggestions?

@hoser - great plan. Very happy to focus on the best places. Should be at Vices or Dieu du Ciel right after 90 minute drive plus border crossing!
Biermarkt on Rénée-Levesque, Irish Embassy (can't remember the street, off R-L though) are good casual spots to grab a drink, lots on tap and great atmosphere.
