My brother and my dad gave me more than a pound of Cascade hop pellets for my birthday. But I don't brew, and I have no plan to start any time soon.

What can I do with the hops? Once I open the bag, how can I store them safely?

So far, I've made tea. One or two pellets in a mug of hot water with a little honey. It's not bad.

If all else fails...I'll give it to homebrewer friends.

Yes, seal and freeze it now. Contact some homebrewers tomorrow and trade for beer.

Take a few of them and dry hop a bud light. Pour a little out, drop 'em in, recap and let it sit for about a week. When you drink it you'll get an opportunity to really capture the characteristics of that particular hop.

Make a batch of fermented pickles or green beans and add some hop pellets.

Trade is the best option.
    Or....
Dry hop beer yourself, in the glass. You could use a tea thing(?) if they're too crumbly.
There is an ornamental hop growing on a fence at work. I used the hop flowers in my glass, on occasion, from September on, until they were gone. (I gave some away too, so I didn't have that much.) It could enhance your drinking experience, if you get the right combo .

Great idea. That'll give you a pretty solid feel for what a completely oxidized Bud Light tastes like when dry-hopped.

Yeah. I was thinking of one I have for herbal tea, or coffee in a pinch, that snaps shut, has one 2" handle, and is puck-shaped, about 1.75" dia. I.e., it would fit in a glass, but that^ could work.
