Hey Guys, I recently took a trip and came back with a bottle of bubonic plague from cascade. The problem is that Delta is a big rough with baggage and when I looked the bottle had let a little beer seep out around the cork. It wasn't all that much and the cork and screw top are still intact but I gather at least some of the CO2 is gone out with it. Has anyone experienced this? What did you do? Should I drink it now or can it still be aged? Any feedback would be really nice, John Morton
Never happened to me but I'd drink it ASAP personally. I'd rather take the chance on it being good now then waiting a year or two to open it only to find out its flat and oxidized.
I flew Delta from San Diego to NY with 16 bottles of beer [12 bombers] and one glass in two suitcases without incident. I flew Delta from Seattle to NY with 31 containers [Bombers, 12 oz. bottles & 12/16 oz. cans] of beer and two glasses in two suitcases without incident. Chances are it was a problem with the bottle, not the airline. IMHO, If CO2 has leaked out, unless you want to have no carbonation remaining or possibly waste what's left in the bottle through oxidation, you're going to have to suck it up and open it up now.
