THIS^^^ look for their Maple Stout or Tribute Double IPA….it's virtually in any store in VT (general stores, gas stations etc) and both are fantastic options (Tribute is amazing btw).

Rock Art? Agree with the others though.

Many many moons ago I asked my in-laws to get me some Heady on a trip to Vermont, admittedly not knowing much about it myself. They waited in line at the brewery for me EARLY in their trip only to realize it was meant to be kept cold. My father-in-law bought a Styrofoam cooler and kept replenishing ice for 10 days for me. . . .needless to say, he's still collecting favors from me to this day.

Also for Rhode Island: Grey Sail and Proclimation

A little late to the party but for VT-Rock Art and FiddleHead for sure.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I know I didn't give a whole lot to go on, but you guys offered up some solid suggestions anyway. Now if you're so inclined, I'm looking for Barley Wine suggestions from that region.

Hermit Thrush is doing some solid high ABV styles. The Jolly Abbot ("Belgian Barley Wine") can I picked up from Hunger Mountain was a highlight from my last trip.

Otter Creek / Lawson's Double Dose - for sure. As far as barleywines go... I can't think of any local ones available right now

Fiddlehead, Trillium and Treehouse would be the three I would go to. Also look for various bottles and cans like SoS.

I was in Montpelier in June, On a Thursday. Heady required some poking around but Sip was EVERYWHERE. I think Fiddlehead was harder to find than Sip.

All the recommendations are good. Im heading up next weekend and will be following these suggestions myself

By the way, don't have your in laws just looking for Sip of Sunshine. As far as sessions go, Super Session #2 is as good as they come.

I can't say there are a lot of New England brewers that have barleywines readily available for purchase. Sorry to say.

Have them look for Crop Bistros idletyme and doubletyme. Both are very good dipas (up there with the top vt beers) very underrated imo, not getting enough attention
