I have a friend of mine willing to get me some beer on her way back from L.A. to Minneapolis. She's driving so I want to get about $200 worth of beer. What should I get? I don't really care about getting the rare stuff. I wouldn't mind getting some Pliney but other than that I already get Green Flash and Ballast Point here in Mn.
A lot of locals are going to laugh at the Golden Road suggestion, but Wolf Among Weeds is actually pretty good. Almanac's a little hard to find, though. Lots of Firestone Walker here, Port Brewing, Bruery. I like some of the stuff out of Strand Brewing.

Alesmith, Bruery, FW, Knee Deep, Port, Lost Abbey, Bear Republic, Drakes, Deschutes A good store for her to go to would be Craft Beer Kings in El Monte Research other top stores for her to go to if she doesn't mind going to them, and make her a list of beer so she can go in and ask if they have any of those beers instead of her searching for them, unless she knows her beer haha Hopefully she grabs you some good stuff!
Thank you for all the insights to so good local brews. She is quite the beer nerd, however she just moved to L.A in August so I don't know if she's embraced the local seen with all the school she's been doing. Is there any special beers I should have her get while she is at it?
