What to look for in Duluth

    Seconded, but if you're buying bottles or cans there for anything that's not quite as sexy, just make sure you check dates. I went in to get some DFH 60 minute last summer, and all the cases I saw were just shy of their first birthday.

    I'm heading home tomorrow, so I want to thank all the Duluth area BAs for your suggestions.

    Place highlights were Thirsty Pagan and 7West. At Thirsty Pagan, I had two interesting saisons and the AM Barleywine, which I really liked, even though it seemed a lot more like an RIS than any barleywine to me. Great pizza too.

    I also had fine beers from Castle Danger, Bent Paddle, Borealis, New Glarus, Surly, Central Waters, Indeed, and a couple of others. The single best beer of the trip was Plead the Fifth, which I hadn't previously known about. Thanks to the guys at Mt Royale, who were serving samples.

    I'm taking home Nein, Rum King, Plead the Fifth, Abrasive, Mon Cherries, and a few other treasures.
