I'm heading to the Beaufort, SC area from Massachusetts this weekend to visit my retired parents. I have some Mexican Cake and Citrus Ninja Exchange waiting for me, but need to know what else I should seek out. I can't make any brewery trips, as my time is limited, but I can hit a nice shop called Bill's. Not sure how much I can put in the luggage for the trip home, so if there's anything specific I should try to nab that might be on shelves, please I'd appreciate the advice.

Can't go wrong with (other) stuff from Westbrook, Holy City and COAST. Not sure what's out and available right now, though.

Any out of state stuff distributed in SC that you can't get in MA?

NoDa brewring distributes there. You might be able to get some Hop Drop & Roll. Also Redbrick brewing from Atlanta and Terrapin. Get some Wake n Bake!

Might as well pick up some Westbrook Gose if you see it on the shelf still. It will go dormant til the Spring.

NoDa does not distribute cans, draft only. May see it on tap at Bills though. Bills has a good COAST selection. Westbrook udderly stout should be out soon I think.

COAST. Just buy anything you see from them. Literally I don't think I've ever had a beer from them that wasn't a hit, and I make an effort to try everything they do.

Also, I've heard Westbrook Can Can hit limited distro, if its at Bills definitely scoop some up. The Red Wine Variant is particularly out of this world. And of course even though the Gose season has past, its pretty much a necessity to get a sixer of it if you are in the state and its available.

Thanks guys! I know my dad has One Claw and some other stuff from Westbrook, and I've seen Duck Rabbit and the Charleston Pale. Terrapin is a good idea I had forgotten. I know Bills has Holy City. Never heard of COAST need to look into it. As for distro I don't get, Bells mostly.

Tour over towards Raleigh (Tasty Beverage, maybe), and pick up some NoDa Hop Drop'n Roll. Call ahead for sure. I-95 through eastern N.C. is pretty much lacking in good beer. Duck Rabbit and Mother Earth are nearby, but shoot over to the Raleigh area for many choices.

Things may have changed, but I'm pretty sure NoDa/OMB don't get out of the 77 corridor.

You don't see NoDa in Charleston. Only Columbia for now and it's very limited.

+1 to anything by Coast. Get it all. Kolsch. Hop Art. Rye Knot Brown. Dead Arm Pale. Alterior Motive. All Chinook.

Plus, Westbrook White Thai, Freehouse Ashley Farmhouse Saison, Holy City Pluff Mud Porter, Quest Smoking Mirror Porter.

White Tai is what my parents have been drinking. No car guys, flying in to Savannah with wide and daughter. Family trip, so Bills is all I get. Should be enough, need to fly it home anyway. Wow, COAST ratings are pretty amazing across the board. Think this is a solid target. By the way, Bills has Pluff Mud Porter as the featured beer of the week or whatever.

Why would someone suggest Tasty Bev in Raleigh? That is like 7, maybe 8 hours away from Beaufort and not in SC! Anyway, Westbrook is the key here.

Scored some good stuff, including Dark Helmet, Citrus Ninja Exchange, Gose, One Claw and White Tai from Westbrook. Got a COAST 32/50 Kolsch as well, and a HopArt that had a lot of hop fade. My sister brought me a bunch of stuff from GA, Terrapin and others.
