Hamms. Back then there was no craft beer but there was a lot of regional brands.

Either a Carling Black Label or a Rheingold, my old man always bought the best six you could find for .99.

I had a Heineken sitting on the roof of my house in high school.

My first beer was cold as a mountain stream, and smooth as it's name. Busch heavy.....smooth

Perhaps a PBR my dad was drinking and gave me a sip.

The first beer I ever really drank was slightly skunked Molson Ice at a party about 20 years ago.

My grand dad got off the train about 1:00 AM in Greensboro from Birmingham. We got home and JB looked in the fridge, exhaled and said to my mom, "Mary Louise, it looks like you're a bit long on milk and short on beer." Next day, there was about a case of Budweiser lurking about the house. Anyway, JB and I go on a project of pruning trees, and after a while he sends me in to fetch a beer. He takes a long pull, looks over at me and says, "son, you'll probably have lots of these in your life, so here's your first taste." I liked it. It was a Budweiser and we worked like a team the rest of the day. That was about 1958.

Milwaukee's Best. My first beer, and incidentally, my worst beer.

One of these with the pop top. Don't tell the dads we snuck it from.

Those retro cans have brought back some good memories.

Newcastle Amber Ale, my Granda always had a crate of it out in the coal house. "Just to wash the coal dust out of my throat" he said. The amount of coal dust he cleared altered his centre of gravity to such an extent he had to lie down in the scullery. Me poor Granda.

The first beer that I sipped was from my grandpa's bottle of Burger beer. The first beer that I ordered in a bar after turning 16 was probably a Blatz, but it could have been a PBR.

Budweiser. When I was ten. For most of my life I hated alcohol, because my mother, who gave me the beer, was an alcoholic. Then I discovered craft beer, and made my peace with booze.

I don't remember what is was, but I can guarantee it was warm. It was probably a PBR in the old squat neck bottles taken out of a brown bag off the back of my Dad's pick-up truck.

touched my lips to a schaefer at the beach. I was around 10 and it was my friends dads. He let us try it. It was horrible to me. Not that it was schaefer but it just smelled bad. I have kept that smell with me forever. Anytime I say something smells like beer I am referring to that smell.

I did not try another beer till I was 16 and it was Michelob in those cool old brown bottles. I did not hate it but it was not great.

    Enjoy

I dunno, whatever mom had laying around to fill my bottle with, you'd have to ask her. Probably schlitz, it was the '70's after all

My uncle kept a few cans of Budweiser in my grandmas fridge. I snuck one out and went down by the creek and took a swig. Almost threw up. :flushed: Of course today I still have the same reaction :grimacing::grinning:
