I swear this thread has been posted before ... I don't know, probably Fat Tire or Sam Adams which I no longer consider craft?

Probably something from Allegheny Brewery here in Pittsburgh, Penn Pilsner or Penn Dark. If Samuel Smith counts, right around that time I remember drinking their Imperial Stout at a bar in Homestead PA, called Chiodos. Ahead of its time in many ways, but they always had a cooler full of imports. That beer was a head turner, and the rest is history. RIP to that bar and to its owner Joe Chiodo, a great guy to be sure.

Fitgers in Duluth MN. I had a peach ale. I was too dumb to know what I was experiencing but I thought that this was really cool- they make their own beer! It was a decade later that I truly discovered and understood (somewhat) "craft beer". Now I home brew and actively seek out out different styles and breweries.

The usual Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or New Belgium Fat Tire after golf at some golf course. I don't remember which came first.

Goose Island Brewery back in 1991. Tried a handful of their beers and my eyes were opened.

Hefeweizen at the Schlafly Tap Room with some Rarebit. It's their warm goat cheese dip, toast rounds. 1995, in the shadow of the beer god, St Louis MO. I've never went back to regular beer after that experience.
