Whenever I drive to Three Floyds I'll buy a case. Typically Gumballhead or Zombie Dust.

Blue Moon if you want to count that. Then Yuengling if that counts. After that I really got into craft and haven't ever committed to a full case of anything.

Yards Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale. Proceeded to make some really poor decisions the night that whole case went away.

Since I stopped drinking Bud I rarely buy cases. Every spring I go to Mayflower's open house. This past spring they had left over cases of Winter Oatmeal Stout for 10 bucks a case so I grabbed 2. Took me till about a month ago but I drank every one of them.

@nc41 just sent me two cans of that. I'll be drinking them tonight (I can't believe I haven't drank them yet!). I'm really looking forward to them.

To the OP. My first craft purchase was a sixer of Magic Hat #9. I didn't know beer could taste good until someone let me try that beer. I tired it at a party shortly after, or before, I turned 21, so the time was ripe for me to go exploring at the liquor store.

Sam Lager, 1985. Yep I'm that old. Who doesn't buy a case of good stuff? I usually buy one every month. Am I the only one to bring a case to a party?

I almost never buy cases. Actually I think the only two I've ever bought were Mad Elf and Backwoods Bastard..

First ever craft beer purchase though was DFH 90.

Yeah (and at the risk of starting the inevitable "What is Craft Beer?" subthread in which everyone gets to use their own personal definition ), I think we all most of us can agree that American Adjunct Lagers and AAL Light beers are not "craft" - that the "craft" terminology was created specifically to differentiate them from the dominant US beer styles that pre-dated the US craft era - like AAL, "light" beer, malt liquor and cream/golden and other adjunct US ales.
