To me, Deschutes doesn't make a bad beer. Their year round six packs are always on sale for $6.99. You can't buy BMC for much cheaper

Maybe that's why a lot of brews and some breweries entire line-up are only available in bombers (more profit per ounce). Also cheaper bottling costs; filling less containers means cheaper container cost and lower bottling expense. Most Stone beers around here are $6 - $8 dollars for a 22 oz. Sounds like a great deal when compared to some brewers charging $17 - $20 or more. But when you calculate the 6er cost ($6 22oz = $19.64 for a 6 pack), that $6 bomber is still overpriced (Stone sells their 6 packs at less per ounce).

For these reasons I try to avoid beers that only come in bombers. 4 packs or 6 packs are almost always a better deal. Not to mention that I may not want to drink and entire 22oz or 750ml of the same beer at one setting. I generally drink 3 or 4 beers of different styles in one night for palate variation.

I hope you're not paying that much for MBC, it's like $7/bottle in Chicago

No no, it was a joke because their beers are so outrageously priced.

    They are.

A shop somewhat close to me has been getting Lunch and others regularly.

I always think "hey, maybe I should grab a bottle." Then I think, "Wow, $8 for 500 ml? There are other beers to try."

You sound like a moron with a low reading comprehension.

I specifically said I buy one to try. Which would indicate I try many beers.

Neither a moron nor low reading comprehension. Just a slight drinking problem.

I just obtained my Masters in Science. You cant be a moron or have low reading comprehension as a scientist.

My point was that you can't expect to find every beer in single format. You must miss out on plenty of good beers because you are reluctant to buy a 6 pack. Wasn't ragging on you just letting you know that passing on a beer in 6-pack format because you can't get a single is going to leave you missing many beers. I'm not sure how Florida's prices are but not buying a 6 pack over 9.99 is pretty damn near impossible in NY, especially if you want good beers.

Also what I said about BA not being the place for you was a complete joke, especially when half the members on here (including myself) will spend a good chunk of cash just for a rare 750 mL.

Maybe in NC. I lived in Wilmington for 5 years and can attest with your statement that BMC beers are quite damn cheap (12 pack of PBR for 5.99). However, not every state is like NC. A 6 pack of bud light in NY is like 7.99.

I agree. Six-pack prices are getting out of control.

Just yesterday I bought a six-pack of Dave for $12,000.

The cost of 6 packs is why a buy a lot of 12 packs.

I just bought two six packs yesterday - Long Trail Mostly Cloudy for $10 plus tax and deposit ( 5 cents per bottle) and Breckenridge Summer Bright Ale for $12 plus tax and deposit. Most of the six packs I buy are $10-12 plus tax and deposit.

Brutal pricing, I pay $8.99 + tax (under $10) for Breckenridge in Colorado!

Try a pump-style bottle stopper that removes the air from the bottle. Then you don't have to drink it all at one sitting.

I figure, I'll try it once when I see it, and no more. Just to see what the hubbub is about.

I right now am drinking a Nelson IPA by alpine. The cost of the beer was about 27 cents per ounce. That equates to about 19.50 for a six pack. Now I am not wealthy but I am comfortable but this beer is the greatest beer that I have ever drank. I think when it comes to cost if one can afford it they should at times drink the best possible beer without contemplating the money they are spending. But I will also at times take down a 12 pack of Corona or a 6 pack of rogue hazelnut brown. Bottom line is this. Respect every dollar but if you want a hamburger from mcdonalds just know that you are getting a hamburger that is a mix of probably 1000 cows. If you buy a 12 pack of Corona light that beer is made to be consistent with no variance. Ramble ramble ramble. I should have had one less beer tonight

Come over to Australia and compare the pricing. A standard cheap lager is approx $14 - $17, semi-boutique is $20 - $25 and the expensive beers are generally in 4-packs and are $20 - $30. A case of top-end can go well into the hundreds of dollars.

Perhaps it depends on your state. In Utah bottle shops for example, a typical 6-pack of good craft beer costs roughly around 9-12 bucks. A 6-pack of regular Uinta Brewery beers ( the mild 4% beer because of utah's laws)sold in grocery stores are generally around 7-8 bucks, depending on the season.

You can usually find one at a wine store. Or maybe this great new website called Amazon.
