This I actually agree with and it makes sense to me. For the most part I also stay away from big business, I hate walmart wont go there. But, I stay away from AB because I don't like there product, goose island I like. tough call.

It was a tough call for me as well because BCBS is a tremendous beer. Nevertheless, and I know this is blasphemy on this site, there are some things more important than beer. I'd rather buy a beer that's "not as good" from a brewery that works hard to support the craft beer movement than a slightly better beer from a company that holds down other craft brewers.

I'm not sure how ABInBev is "holding down" any of the breweries here in SD.....

I can tell you for a fact that Andy Goeler, who is taking over at Goose, as John Hall takes more of a "enjoy life and family role" will be every bit committed to GI Bourbon County -- if not more. He's a beer legend and no one gets the passion for the brand more than him. Nothing is changing for the brand other than a effort to get more of it out since demand is so high. I hope the Alstrom Brothers will spend some time with him. BCS will continue to be the greatest with their new leader.

It is, aged in rye barrels actually.
I do agree this is one of the best year round barrel aged beers available though.

I would imagine that the GI line has better margins than their core lagers. Sure the cost is more but once operational efficiencies are completed they would be stupid to play with ingredients. Sure, they will try to exercise buying efficiencies with the new scale but ruining the recipes would be disastrous. GI was built by craft lovers and InBev should know this wont go over well. Without the BCBS leg, GI's lore in craft would never be the same

This!!!! Big beers in single serve bottles! Parabola is lame compared to BCBS! Kudos to Founders(KBS), Dark Horse (BBPt5), Averys (Uncle Jacobs), Tyranena(Whos your Daddy, Devil over a barrel, a few more) for all putting awesome BA stouts into 12oz bottles! You guys are doing this right!
