What will Reluctant Scooper do?

Most likely Scoops is sucking back gallons of this with the Stella Artois brewmaster as we speak. Probably has a massive row of various high end gins and ports on the bar ready to be shotgunned at the end of the evening too.

 

It will have to be renamed as the "Girlfriend Beater"

 

Drink twice as much, of course.

Dropping the abv makes a marginal difference to the vast majority of consumers whilst generating extra revenue through less duty paid (price to punter won't go down) with said revenue ploughed back into discounting for the on-trade.

Possibly.

 

A 0.2% difference is marginal and nothing compared to the ABV reduction in something like Gold Label which presently sits at 7.5%.

 

Very sad to see Gold Label so weak. I have an inexplicable affection for that beer.

 

I imagine it will be pretty dilute too compared to what I remember from the 80s. I think the reduction from 8.50% to 7.5% ABV is quite recent though.

 

The best thing I like about Stella is the glassware. The beer is on draught at the local Old Chicago and I do not like it taking up valuable draught space..

 

I've brewing records of Gold Label from the late 1960's and early 1970's. Just looking for someone to brew it for me.
